ZFI is running in Delhi (a) Happy Home (India) where poor orphaned children (including those affected by Gujarat disturbances) are being brought up and educated, (b) Mercy Home (India) – charitable medical center and (c) Adams Care – nursing home where poor patients are treated / admitted. ZFI distributes monthly cereals etc to poor widows in Delhi, pays monthly stipend to poor widows outside Delhi; helps poor persons stand on their feet and become financially independent; pays educational fees of poor students studying in modern schools and madarsas; helps in marriage of poor girls; helps madarsas, pays off debts of the needy and for
moallifat-ul-quloob; etc.
After the unfortunate occurrence of Kashmir earthquake (2005), ZFI team visited there and provided financial assistance to the needy besides blankets, medicines, etc. Seriously injured persons were flown to Delhi and treated in AIIMS. Similar exercise was done after Tsunami (2004), Gujarat disturbances (2002) and for hungry families of Murshidabad (2005).
ZFI has separate bank accounts for Zakat, Sadaqat & Imdaad, Happy Home, Mercy Home, Adams Care, building account, administrative expenses, etc. Fitra is also adequately handled as per
shari’at. ZFI collects Zabiha skins and makes arrangements for Qurbani on the occasion of Eidul-Zuha for those willing to utilize its services. ZFI has a separate Division of Training & Employment for help of the needy. ZFI organizes Annual Indian Conference on the importance of organized collection and utilization of Zakat and other charities. Last conference was held in New Delhi on 3-4 September 2005. Zakat & Sadaqat organizations of various Indian states participated. Next conference is scheduled in New Delhi on 2-3 September 2006. National and international luminaries, scholars, ulema, muftis and jurists are expected to actively participate.
Ulema & Muftis of national and international eminence are closely associated with ZFI and are periodically consulted by it. Accounts are meticulously maintained and regularly audited by chartered accountant. Returns are annually submitted to the Income-tax Dept.
Kindly pay your charity (all kinds including Zakat, Sadaqat, Imdaad etc.) through Zakat Foundation of India and feel fully satisfied under
shari’at. Cheques / bank drafts to favour “ZAKAT FOUNDATION OF INDIA” payable at New Delhi (Please write Zakat/Sadaqat etc on the reverse side of cheque/draft). You will also be entitled to deduction under section 80G of Income-tax Act, if you so choose.
