Zakat or
Zakah is the third pillar of Islam. Zakat means Blessing, purification,
increase and goodness. Ibn Taimiah said, "The soul of one who gives Zakat
is blessed and so is his wealth."
Zakat is
defined as "A determined portion taken from wealth and allocated to those
deserving it, by a Qur'anic injunction. In an authentic hadith, the
Prophet (peace be upon him) said to his Companion Mu`adh, when he was sent
to Yemen as governor, "Tell them that Allah has made Zakat obligatory for
them, that it should be collected from the rich and distributed among the
poor."
HOW CAN WE
HELP
MESCO is a Mumbai based registered Charitable Organization working since
1968. MESCO has been using zakat collected by it for funding various
welfare schemes according to the tenets ordained in the Quran and the
Sunnah.
By donating your zakat to MESCO, you can transform many lives, since all
the welfare activities designed and run by MESCO are intended to make the
zakat beneficiaries self-reliant and providing helping hand to become the
zakat benefactors.
OUR REACH OUT
Under Zakat Category:

Total 1565 students (Nursery level to professional level) were assisted
through 4 Educational Aid Schemes.
·
Total 222 patients were assisted through 3 Medical Aid Schemes.
·
Total 273 families were assisted through 3 Poverty Relief Schemes.
Under Non-Zakat Category:
·
Total 651 students (Nursery level to professional level) were assisted
through 4 Educational Aid Schemes.
·
Total 71 patients were assisted under 2 Medical Aid Schemes and 64055
patients served through 3 Mobile Clinics and a Dispensary.
·
Total 27 families were assisted through 2 Poverty Relief Schemes.
APPEAL
For the last 43 years we are able to manage these activities through your
support, we therefore appeal to you and through you to your friends,
relatives, acquaintances to send in their Zakat, Sadqa, Lillah
contribution to MESCO.
Your Zakat / Donation is exempted from income tax u/s. 80-G. We accept
overseas Zakat / Donation in foreign currency under FCRA Registration.
Overseas donors are requested to send details of their remittance with
identity.
