New political forum

Hyderabad: A meeting of representatives of Muslim leaders from Telangana area in Andhra Pradesh was held here on 14 December. The programme was presided over by senior journalist and Saz-e-Deccan editor Baqar Husain Shaz.

The meeting discussed issues relating to Muslims, their problems and rampant discrimination against them in the region.

To ensure justice for the Muslims of the area the meeting also proposed formation of an organization. After prolonged discussion, the proposal was accepted and an organization, Tanzeem Musalman Tilangana State (TMT) was formed with Baqar Husain Shaz as its president. Dr Muhammad Abdurrahman Khan was appointed its general secretary, Azeez Nomani and Anwar Kamal Khondmeri, both organizing secretaries and Muhammad Abdurrauf its treasurer.

Baqar Husain Shaz, the president of the organization also appointed an 11-member organizing committee on the occasion. He also announced to post candidates and fight forthcoming civic elections in the region. q
