policy- a victim of bias
|Speakers at the Muslim Political Conference held at Aligarh on 4 January expressed deep concern at the foreign policy of the Vajpayee government and said that India’s foreign policy, instead of being realistic, has become a victim of the RSS bias and arrogance. In particular our age-old relations with Arab countries have suffered.
Due to the anti-Muslim attitude of the RSS, undue attention is being paid towards Israel. India has failed to play an important role in the Palestinian problem because our neutrality has been severely injured as a result of undue and uncalled for tilt towards Israel. Indian Muslims feel that India’s tilt towards Israel because of enmity towards Muslims is not in the interest of the country and the nation. From an economic and political point of view, Arab countries are far better allies than Israel. The speakers stressed that our relations with neighbouring countries too are becoming strained. In particular, Mr. Malkani's statement regarding Nepal is condemnable.
They appealed to India’s foreign policy makers to suitably change their policy and attitude so that India could be helpful in the restoration of international peace and security and benefit from the opportunities in the Middle East and North Africa.
