Arafat: Israel wants to kill all the leaders

Paris: Arafat charged in an interview on 17 Jan. that the Israeli occupation authorities are engaged in a systematic effort to kill all the leaders of the Palestinian people. "It's a systematic tactic," the Palestinian leader said in an interview with the Figaro newspaper. "The Israelis want to kill all the leaders of the Palestinian people, one after the other."

Asked what he was doing to restrain the Hamas resistance group, Arafat replied: "I'm doing my best. But the Israelis are doing nothing to reduce the tension. Our problem with Sharon is that in reality, he doesn't want an accord," Arafat said.
