Mosque in Ayodhya confiscated

Ayodhya: Repair work of a ‘panchaiti’ mosque in a locality of Ayodhya has been stopped when a BJP supporter objected to it. This has sent a wave of resentment among Muslims of the locality. The said mosque has been confiscated and PAC posted in the area by the authorities on the excuse of the possibility of breach of law and order. A notice has also been sent to the person who was getting the mosque repaired, to the effect that repair of mosque without government permission is illegal.

This action has been taken by the local authorities in spite of the fact that people of every community in the area wanted that the mosque should be restored to the people to whom it belongs. q
