Violation of human rights in Kashmir

New Delhi: Minister of State for Home Affairs, Vidya Sagar Rao informed the Lok Sabha that 109 complaints of human rights violation by armed military and para-military forces in Jammu & Kashmir were received during the year 2000-2001.

He said in a written reply that whenever a complaint about cases of human rights violation by security forces was made to National Commission for Human Rights, the Commission always took action under section 19 of Security of Human Rights Act, 1993. q
