Noted poet Kaifi Azmi has been honoured with Sahitya Academy Fellowship. He is the second Urdu author after Qurratul Ain Haider to have been honoured with this award.

Maulana Ahmad Mustafa Rahi Siddiqui and Abrar Karatpuri were honoured with Sehar Rampuri awards for journalism and poetry respectively. Well known poet Abrar Karatpuri’s book of Masnawi (narrative poetry) and Ghazwat was also released on this occasion. The function was presided over by poet Salahuddin Pervez and ended with a poetic symposium.
SH Raza of Menton, France, who recently celebrated his 80th birthday at India’s capital Delhi, announced the setting up of the Raza Foundation to recognize and promote the deserving Indian talent. Maintaininng that the younger Indian artists are among the best in the world, the Parisian Raza has chosen Seema Ghuraiyya of Madhya Pradesh to receive the first Raza award of Rs 1 lakh. The works of the gifted artist Seema were on show at Delhi’s Art Today gallery, which was titled Ishara.
