We are Indian doctors in the UK. We are very much worried about the situation of Gujarat and we are very curious about the future of Indian Muslims. Your website comes to us as a messenger of Indian Muslims, and informs us in detail of the situation there. Keep it up for some wonderful work: The Milli Gazette

I never knew that such a beautiful, informative and timely journal is being published by you. I wish you best and I further congratulate you for publishing this timely Gazette. It would be better if the same is published like a journal so that the same can be preserved on the line of Muslim India.
Yaseen Momin, Advocate
192, Dargah Road, Bhiwandi-421302 (Dist. Thane)

In these troubled times when Muslims are at the receiving end of the aggression of all sorts, Milli Gazette fulfils an important need by representing the Muslim voice and presenting matters in their true perspective.
Dr Ajaz A Baba, P.O. Box No. 1067 G.P.O.

Getting Milli Gazette punctually. Mashallah it is touching and informative. It represents deep feelings of Ummah. It must be in every house of Millat.

MG stands tall on all counts. Earlier I used to read Islamic Voice, Radiance, Young Muslim Digest, all these papers and magazines hold no more interest for me. Now I only read MG due to its rich contents and presentation. One big mistake you are knowingly or unknowingly committing since your paper came into existence is that you have been giving great stress on international issues. It is true that the MG is for entire Muslim world but in my opinion you should keep your eyes only on India’s vast Muslim community. My suggestion is that please give some coverage to North East issues also. There is sizable Muslims population in the North-East but it has been neglected by the MG.

Crossed swords
Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee has been passing remarks against Mrs. Sonia Gandhi in a bad taste. Every sensible Indian was deeply hurt also because of insulting the respected lady folks of our society. Sonia Gandhi has now started replying in hard hitting words. "He is loosing the mental balance", is a very harsh and strong remark of an Opposition Leader against a Prime Minister. However, the opportunity was provided by none other than him. Some times back, during his visit to the riots-torn Gujarat; he had mourned the sufferings of millions of Muslims, 2,000 killed and their properties worth billions of rupees destroyed. Now, he has justified the crucifying due to the killings of 59 Hindus in Godhara train carnage 45 days earlier. Is this the "Raj Dharam" he had taught to the Chief Minister in Ahmedabad. His criticism in Goa on 13 April against the Muslims all over the world was the rudest ever made by any head of state. We were a noble people and we should remain the same.

Apropos of Mr Shahid Burney's article in the MG. He has rightly said that we have to think about ourselves now or it would be too late. Now we have to take some concrete steps to ensure the safety of our community all over India. As far as Muslim countries are concerned, I would say it is because of them that we always lose battle every where in the world. Still, we have to take some steps of our own for the sake of the future of Islam and Muslims in India.

This refers to ‘Time to rethink’ by Shahid R Burney MG issue 1-15 April 2002. Undoubtedly it is ‘Time to rebuild’.
A building of socio-economic and political force is the need of the hour to repay in the same coin. The mobocracy rules the biggest nation in the name of democracy. Who cares for the Constitution.Muslims, in the entire Indian history never failed to sacrifice their lives for the nation, still they are terrorists, and unfaithful and unreliable.
‘Aai watan, piyare watan, wo bhi tujhe de denge
Bach gaya jo bhi lahoo ab ke fasadat ke bad’
In the present political perspective, the Muslim MPs, MLAs and other representatives, Muslims by name are not Muslim representatives, they are here to serve more to their political Godfathers to whom they are bound to be loyal. It is because it serves their own interest and they enjoy privileges. Muslims are more divided on caste and creed lines like their non-Muslim brethren. But at time of the massacre as in Gujarat they are Muslim first and nobody sees whether they are loyal to community or to someone else.
The entire non-Muslim majority face with minor exceptions has become communalized including administrative machinery under the influence of Bhagwa spirit. People like Harsh Mandar an IAS officer who resigned due to Gujarat riots are rare. Muslim forums are passively inactive against this growing Bhagwa spirit and anti-composite values and morals for want of coordination, education and resources. They are more worried about their interests and privileges and lying under the adverse influence of personality cult.

Who will arrest Sharon
What is the difference between State terrorism and individual terrorist acts? If we understand this difference we'll understand also the evil US policies in the Middle East and the forthcoming disasters. When Yassir Arafat was put under siege in his office and kept hostage by the Israeli occupation forces, he was constantly pressed into condemning terror and combatting terrorism. Israel's State terrorism is defined by US officials as "self-defense", while individual suicide bombers are called terrorists. At the same time, Sharon's responsibility for Israeli war crimes is being completely ignored. Who should be arrested for the targeted killing of almost 100 Palestinians? Who will be sent to jail for the killing of more than 120 Palestinian paramedics? Who will be sentenced for the killing of more than 1,200 Palestinians and for the collective punishment of more than 3,000,000 civilians during the last 18 months? And who will face the International Tribunal for the illegal settlement of occupied Palestinian Lands, and the disobedience of UN decisions for more than 35 years? Suicide bombs cannot be compared to State terrorism carried out by the Israeli Government. The former are individual acts of despair of a people that see no future, vastly ignored by an unfair and distorted international public opinion. The latter are cold and "irrational" decisions of a State and a military apparatus of occupation, well equipped, financed and backed by the only superpower in the world.
Yet in the public debate, State terrorism and individual suicide bombs are not even considered as comparable cases of terrorism. The State terror and war crimes perpetrated by the Israeli Government are legitimized as "self-defense", while Arafat, even under siege, is demanded to arrest "terrorists."
I want to ask: Who will arrest Sharon, the person directly responsible for the orders to kill Palestinians? When is he going to be defined a terrorist too? How long will the world ignore the Palestinian cry that all they want is freedom and independence?

Garvi Gujarat’s ‘Shaurya’ map
Let the man-killer crocodile called Modi publish a big map of Garvi Gujarat large enough to show therein all those hundreds of places where thousands of unarmed minority community men, women and children were ‘bravely’ put to death by fully armed big mobs of thousands of power-intoxicated people. He may also arrange to get this certificate of Shaurya displayed in every foreign embassy in New Delhi (especially Israel and USA) to teach them how to give a Togadiya-type answer to Islamic jehad.

Newton’s law
Godhra train crime was committed by an infuriated mob which was reacting against anti-Muslim slogans as told by the Prime Minister. Non-paying karsevaks who thrashed an old bearded Muslim tea vendor and abducted his young daughter, took her in S-6 coach and locked its doors and closed windows. It was reported by many Urdu, Hindi, English dailies and weeklies of Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Calicut etc. 'Washington Post' and 'Independent' London had also published it. Godhra's Dy SP Mr BK Nanavati has been quoted by the media as saying 'It was not preplanned. It was a sudden provocative incident'.
Gujarat is a laboratory of fascist Hindu Rashtra of RSS. Its CM Narendra Modi and governor Bhandari both are RSS Pracharaks. The opposition, the media, NHRC, have held Modi responsible for giving long rope to RSS, VHP, BJP, Bajrang Dal leaders, activists, rioters, administration and police to play with the life and property of Muslims throughout Gujarat. It was punishment to Muslims for voting against BJP in recent elections of four states. It was organized massacre of Muslims hence downright 'State terrorism'. Indian and international print and electronic media have reported and condemned Gujarat pogrom and carnage which has tarnished the fair name of India in the world.

Unity of India: Not riots
What happened in Godhra on 27 February and what is happening in Gujarat since 28 February, 2002 is highly shameful and proves the inefficiency of the Narender Modi government. It was due to the failure of the Modi government that 58 Karsevaks were burnt in the Sabarmati Express at Godhra. Had the government acted in time with a firm determination, the calamity would have been averted?
The selective killings of thousands of Muslims, burning of their properties, sacrilege and destruction of their Mosques and schools, rape of girls, roasting alive of innocent babies and the police and administration watching this arson, loot and murder as silent spectators – do all these things not show what the Modi government in Gujarat stands for?

Fire
‘Who started fire?’
The one who is a liar
Whose end will be dire
The Final Day is near
When liars won’t find a buyer
Does not their religion also say that
The hottest fire is Hell Fire?!

KERALA: GUJARAT 2
Kerala seems to be the next target of the neo-Nazis after the success tested by them in Gujarat in killing and destroying Muslims. Kerala, which has been free from this theo-fascism would be ablaze, courtesy the national stupor of the "civil society". And the trecherous criminals instigating this crime against humanity not being arrested and removed from the scene forthwith would have brought Hindu Rashtra nearer to realization. Kerala will be the next stop. It is said by none other than Vidyasagar Rao. That this Vidyasagar Rao is a Central Minister of sorts reveals the mindset of the Centre which moulds and inspires him. Should such a central government, steeped in anti-national crimes, defiling the Constitution be allowed to continue? It is not only a mad Modi who needs to be sent off the shores of India, the whole rogues' gallery constituting the Hindutva brigade must be made to disappeared if India is to be saved. Dithering over it will cost India dear. Procrastinating and prevaricating in the matter would amount to sanctioning an open season on minorities.
It is via democracy that fascists have come to power, and it is democracy that they hate and would bury. The question of expulsion and excision of the saffronazis is not limited to or should be of concern to just the minorities, but it impinges on and impacts the entire fabric of ethos and entity known as India. Any compromise with this scourge of majoritarian roguery, or any delay in quashing and quelling it out of existence, would not only destroy democracy in India, but also India. We may not have to wait for four years for Kerala to go up in a Hindutva blaze.

Secular police
New fleet of "Qualis" vehicles is being given to Mumbai Police. The ministry and top police officials should also issue clear and strict orders to the bearers of these official vehicles, not to put any symbols/stickers or mini temples etc. depicting any religious affiliations. Being part of a secular nation, it is duty of all officials to remain secular at all official places and treat all religions with same standards. But unfortunately violation in this regard is taken for granted. Many officials are found engaged in religious ceremonies related to a particular faith.

Why VHP prefers Friday ?
Over the period of time it is observed that VHP and its allies prefer to launch any offensive on Fridays so as to blame Muslims about all their terrorist acts. VHP and Co. is busy distorting the image of Muslim peace prayers and want to put the blame of their terrorizing acts on Muslim community.
Every time VHP & Co. launch their puja / mahaarti etc. a time coincides with Friday prayers of Muslims. It is clear that they are inculcating hatred among the communities for their vested interest. All peace loving and sincere Hindus should oppose VHP & Co's these acts of inflammations.

Write to the editors
One of the insidious ways in which communal prejudice is proliferating in our lives is through the letters to the editor being published in various newspapers and magazines these days. Everyday you can see scores of hateful letters in your favourite newspapers, which spew venom against a particular community and even the secular-minded people. Such letters not only help strengthen the already existing prejudices in the readers’ minds, but also introduce new strains of hate amongst the uninitiated.
According to the staff and editors of some periodicals, they have been receiving endless amounts of letters whose contents are too political to be sent by an average reader. There may exist a concerted lobby of people from some communal organizations whose job is to sieve through the media everyday and send hateful letters to editors – using mostly fictitious names and addresses. Since the newspaper staff is inundated with these letters everyday, they have no choice but to publish at least some of them.
The question is, why shouldn’t we, the people who believe in secular values and politically correct ideologies, take part in this process and counter the communal propaganda through letters. We need to (1) be critical of the media reports and comment on them by writing to the editor, and (2) send letters to the editor in reply to the hateful mails.
You can the do any of the following: Write to the editor about a biased reporting or editorial; Write to the editor countering the biased and hateful letters; If you wish to write but do not know where to send the letter, send it to us by email, fax or tell us telephonically and we will forward your letter to the concerned publishing house. We will soon make available the fax numbers and email addresses of all the important periodicals in India.
‘Letters to the editor’ is probably the only space available to the ordinary citizens who wish their voice to be heard. Please use it responsibly, and spread the message of peace and harmony rather than hate. Do not be afraid of your letter not being published. Write to the editor again and again if you fail once.
