Americans want more

US President George W. Bush who has been widely criticised for terming Iran, Iraq and North Korea as "axis of evil". An opinion poll in the US has said Americans would like to have more countries on the ‘Axis of evil’ list, including Washington's close ally Saudi Arabia. A survey carried out by the Institute for Jewish and Community Research shows that most Americans agree with President George W. Bush's identification of Iraq, Iran and the Maoist North Korea as constituting the axis of evil. Surprisingly, 40 per cent said Saudi Arabia should be included and 35 per cent said Syria too should be on the list.

The White House speechwriter who wrote the controversial 'axis of evil' speech for Bush, David Frun, a Canadian citizen, has resigned following his wife’s boasting emails to her friends that it was her husband who wrote the piece (PTI).
