Saharanpur: The newly formed representative body, Milli Majlis, in a memorandum presented to Hafiz Mohd. Siddique, a member of Majlis-e-Shoora (Consultative Council) and former minister, demanded construction of a hospital for students, representation of citizens of Deoband in Majlis-e-Shoora, and reduction in amounts being spent on construction works. Beside, the Milli Majlis has demanded strict action against teachers who provoked students against the citizens of Deoband.

The memorandum also said that the administration of Darul Uloom be made more dynamic. The suggestions if implemented would better the communication between the citizens of Deoband and the management of Darul Uloom, Milli Majlis felt. The body demanded the recognition of the old students’ representative body "Jamiatul Talba" (Students Union), so that students could communicate with the management to solve their problems. Besides, demands have been made for the setting up of a hospital with 50 beds, equipped with all kinds of modern instruments and with qualified resident doctors for providing better treatment at a low cost.

The Milli Majlis has demanded firm action against the teachers who had provoked students allegedly for unreasonable actions against the shopkeepers in the vicinity of Darul Uloom. It also suggested that citizens of Deoband be included in the Majlis-e- Shoora. The Majlis further demanded that the temporary and daily wage employees, which include peons, chefs and accountants, should be made permanent and their salary increased.

The Milli Majlis has also condemned the communalists for baseless accusations and bringing a bad reputation to the reputed institution.
