BJP wants monopoly
Hyderabad: Expressing strong reaction
on BJP’s stand on madrasa, Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin
Owaisi has demanded clarification of government’s stand on this
recommendation from Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. In his statement
Owaisi said that the resolution was presented in the presence of the PM
and it will have serious consequences if it is implemented. He further
said that it seems from the silence of the PM that the BJP wants its
monopoly in the country. Despite BJP’s statement secular groups have not
expressed their views or reaction, he said. He also said that these
statements deny Muslims their fundamental rights which have been granted
in the Constitution of India. He said that BJP would not be allowed to
implement such dangerous proposals. Those who doubt the loyalty of Muslims
are enemies of the country. If steps are taken to ban madrasas, there
would be increase in communal violence in the country, he added.
Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen is against every kind of violence and
terrorism, but central government by branding Muslim institutions as
enemies of the country, is trying to create doubt about them, while the
truth is that terrorist activities of organizations like VHP, RSS and
Bajrang Dal are undeniable facts which the entire world knows about. Every
day there are attacks on Muslim and Christian minorities, he added.
Sangh Parivar is running a parallel government and the government is a
silent onlooker. The attackers are left free and no action is being taken
against them, he concluded.
MLA Akbaruddin, Owaisi, while expressing his reaction said that the PM
should first clarify as to what he means by terrorism. On the one hand he
has kept mum on the demand of banning madrasas in the name of terrorism,
and on the other hand he is encouraging organizations which are acclaimed
fundamentalists against whom courts have pronounced judgements.
He further said that the PM should also clarify as to what he thinks about
attacks on Muslim and Christians' places of worship. Are those
organizations not fundamentalists which disregard constitution? We are
with the government if it restrains the organizations which are really
dangerous for the country, he added. q |
