Goods for riot-affected people should be given to them
Vancaur (Canada): Non-governmental organisations in Canada have urged the Canadian foreign minister, to help in making available relief materials and supplies worth 650,000 Canadian Dollars to the riot-hit people of Gujarat for whom it is meant. These goods are lying unatilised at Mumbai’s Kandla port for three months.
Dr Hari Sharma, president of South Asian Network for Secularism and Democracy (SANSAD) in a letter to the foreign minister has said that these goods and materials were arranged with the help and cooperation of different Canadian organisations and thousands of people belonging to different walks of life.
A non-governmental organisation of Canada, Human Concern International (HCI) has said that it had arranged eatables, cloths, medicines and other necessary things for the affected people by highlighting their conditions among the people of Canada but the authorities in Gujarat are not allowing these things to reach the deserving people.
