Hakeem Zakai
'Hakeems and Vaids should mutually share their experiences'

Hakeem Imamuddin, whose treatment is based purely on Unani and indigenous systems, has achieved immense success in this profession and the huge crowd of patients in his clinic is a testimony to this fact. He thinks that the height of glory and popularity achieved by Unani system has to a large extent been lost today

Hakeem Imamuddin Zakai is amongst the admirers of late Hakeem Abdul Hameed, the founder of Jamia Hamdard, who raised the standard of Unani system of treatment by his simple lifestyle and high innovative thinking. The struggle for upliftment and popularisation of Unani treatment virtually came to a stop after the illustrious Hakeem.

This is what Hakeem Zakai thinks. He is very much fed up with the medical practitioners who get themselves registered as Unani practitioners but carry on the practice in allopathy and who, while advocating the revival of Unani system and adoption on modern lines plead for presentation of 'Chutney', 'Khamira', ' Majoon' etc in the form of capsules and tablets. Unani physicians should also organise national conferences, like Ayurved physicians, and should mutually share each others experiences and experiments. This will not only lead to increased knowledge but will also create new thinking. Hakeems and Vaids should sit together and share each other's knowledge and experiences.

Hakeem Imamuddin, whose treatment is based purely on Unani and indigenous systems, has achieved immense success in this profession and the huge crowd of patients in his clinic is a testimony to this fact. He thinks that because of the apathy and indifference of our own people, the height of glory and popularity achieved by Unani system in earlier days has to a large extent been lost today, in spite of the fact that this system is matchless in the treatment of many chronic diseases. According to him this system is extremely useful in the treatment of swelling of intestines and stomach, liver problems, kidney and gall bladder stones, joint pains, rheumatic pains etc.
