Economic losses of the Gujarat carnage

Take a look at the cost of Gujarat riots which were engineered to save a political party from debacle at the hustings. For this party any price is small to stay in power.

Rs. 30,000 million due to close down of shops, industries and commerce
RS. 10,000 million in Surat due to damage to textile mills, handloom mills
Rs. 100 million or more due to burning down of 60 Opel Astras parked outside GM Motors unit at Halol
Rs. 20 million or more at the Lucky Film studio nearby
Rs. 40 million due to burnt Honda City and Accord Fleet cars at Landmark Honda showroom at Thaltej, Gandhinagar
Rs. 6000 million loss to hotel industry at Ahmedabad
20,000 workers jobless, and many missing
Rs. 5000 million due to burnt down hotels and restaurants in Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad
20,000 two-wheelers and 4000 cars burnt
Thousands of crores lost due to burning and destruction of thousands of houses
Gujarat Road Transport Corporation estimated a loss of Rs. 125 million and transportation companies have lost business of Rs. 700 million.
Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry put
losses at Rs 20,000 million.
20 mosques and dargahs razed to the ground in Ahmedabad alone
According to Police, 240 dargahs and 180 mosques destroyed besides 25 madrasahs. More than 20 temples and 20 churches were also destroyed.

Which multinational would like to invest in such an environment? Please keep in mind that VHP's international working president Ashok Singhal has termed Gujarat a "successful experiment", and warned that it will be repeated all over India.
