Economic losses of the Gujarat carnage
Take a look at the cost of Gujarat riots which were engineered to save a political party from debacle at the hustings. For this party any price is small to stay in power.

» RS. 10,000 million in Surat due to damage to textile mills, handloom mills
» Rs. 100 million or more due to burning down of 60 Opel Astras parked outside GM Motors unit at Halol
» Rs. 20 million or more at the Lucky Film studio nearby
» Rs. 40 million due to burnt Honda City and Accord Fleet cars at Landmark Honda showroom at Thaltej, Gandhinagar
» Rs. 6000 million loss to hotel industry at Ahmedabad
» 20,000 workers jobless, and many missing
» Rs. 5000 million due to burnt down hotels and restaurants in Bhavnagar, Ahmedabad

Which multinational would like to invest in such an environment? Please keep in mind that VHP's international working president Ashok Singhal has termed Gujarat a "successful experiment", and warned that it will be repeated all over India.
