Permission for offering Namaz withdrawn
Saharanpur: The district inspector of schools has withdrawn the orders earlier issued for providing a clean place in IBS Inter college for those who wanted to offer prayers in the college premises during Ramadan, because of strong opposition by various Hindu organisations.
A few days ago a Muslim girl student lodged a complaint in which she said that the teacher had beaten some girl students and threatened them to expel after they offered Namaz in a mosque some metres away from the college.
Earlier, Sanjay Garg, an MLA offered a solution the Inspector of school the basis of which the inspector issued an order to all colleges to provide a clean place with college to those student who wanted to offer Namaz during Ramadan. As soon as some Hindu organisations got this news they strongly protested against this ‘favour’ and condemned the inspector as well as the administration.
After some time the inspector of school and police visited many girls’ colleges and told the authorities that the orders had been issued by mistake and that no permission could be granted to offer prayers in the colleges. He also told them that the previous order stands cancelled.
