Hamid Ansari, vice chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University has appealed to the students to help administration in normalizing the educational environment in the campus. He has also asked them to help University administration in forcing anti-education elements from the University.
With the goons and goondas and outside elements again creeping in the campus, disturbing the educational environment, the university is again in the eye of another storm. Students of plus two classes who failed to pass the eligibility test to be promoted to the bachelor classes have also intensified their agitation to be allowed to be admitted in those classes without appearing in any test. They have also demanded that no test should be imposed upon them as they are already the students of the University and have qualified tests to be admitted in plus two classes. The University has not been able to solve these issues and apparently vice chancellor was forced to seek students’ help in normalizing the educational environment in the campus.
He has told around 22000 students of the university that it is they who will have to decide that they will not allow anti-social elements to destroy educational environment here. he has asked their help in driving out such elements.

LECTURE ON MEDIA
Dr Dilnawaz A. Siddiqi, professor of communication at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, in a lecture at the AMU, said that the news in the western media offer two extreme views. One, that new sin print as well as in the electronic media are mostly meant to confuse simple issues and events rather than clarify them and over-simply the complex ones.
Media pundits are thus engaged in brain-washing the public to naively accept the publicity perspectives of things designed to serve the interests of the rich and their establishment.
He was delivering a lecture in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at the Aligarh Muslim University.
Discussing the role of western media, Prof. Siddiqi said that news is only a context for advertisement to sell products and services and rarely the text itself, it has to catch audience attention and sustain it.
Western media managers have discovered that ‘sex and violence sell’ and help them accomplish the objective of hooking us up to media. The only motivating principle underlying the western 'free' libertarian model is profit by all possible means (Rahat Abrar).
