Turkestani Sufis
A book by Professor of politics Mehdi Sanai, who is currently the head of the Iranian Culture Centre at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia, has been published in Moscow under the title On the Great Silken Way. Meetings at the Kazakhs’ land, where he shared his memories of the years, spent in Kazakhstan, where he worked from 1995 until 1998.
The learned author had a chance to meet and talk to those who endured the hardest atheistic persecutions by the followers of the Middle Asia Sufism the Yasaviya Tariqah. Their spiritual way, according to the author’s opinion, contributes to the revival of Islam in the new state of Kazakhstan. A new book by Dr. Mehdi Sanai “The social-political aspects of the interrelations between Iran and the Central Asia countries” is being prepared for publication in Moscow as well. q |
