Temple work to be completed by June: VHP
Coimbatore: Vishwa Hindu Parishad on 5 Feb. said it is determined to begin construction of Ram Temple at Ayodhya any day after March 12 and hoped to complete the work by June.
"Come what may, we will try our utmost to begin the construction works any day after Mar 12 and hope to complete it by June or so," VHP Senior vice-president Acharya Giriraj Kishore told reporters in Coimbatore.
Most of the material for the ground floor of the temple was ready and would be brought to Ayodhya at proper time.
Asked whether this may lead to the fall of BJP-led government at the Centre, he said, "Do not put hypothetical questions. It is for the government to think. It is the question of our faith. We are determined to construct the temple."
On whether VHP would 'sacrifice' the Vajpayee government, he said, "That is not upto us. If they (NDA) want to sacrifice, it is their job. If the government concedes the reasonable demand, there is no reason for the fall of the government."
Asked whether he was apprehensive of any bloodshed or unrest among certain community, also considering the situation on the border, he replied in the negative.
However, Acharya expressed confidence that Prime Minister Vajpayee will solve the problem amicably and if not "we are prepared for every eventuality to construct the temple." (PTI)
