Former Bahujan Samaj Party MP, Akbar Ahmad Dumpy along with his wife Naina has joined the Congress party. Talking to newspersons in presence of Ghulam Nabi Azad, general secretary of All India Congress Committee (UP), Dumpy called BSP a Bahujan suppression party. He said that BSP has forgotten its promise to work for the weaker sections.

Kolkata fans of Shah Rukh Khan have shown their utmost love for the Bollywood cine star as they raised their voice unanimously to dedicate a museum to Shah Rukh Khan. The frenzy stirred after much excitement over the proposed temple to adulate the millennium star Amitabh Bachchan. The name given to the museum by Shah Rukh Khan Fans Club is SRK Memorabilia, situated in the northern part of the city.

Feroz Khan, general secretary of Nationalist Congress Party, Delhi Pradesh, has been recently nominated chairman of NCPís Sewa Dal. Khan also holds the post of national general secretary of National Union of Backward Class Association and has also contested Assembly elections from Janata Dalís platform against Yoganand Shastri.

Various educational, social, literary and religious organizations of inhabitants of Deccan, South India, residing in Jeddah hosted a reception meeting to pay homage to prominent educationist Muhammad Ishaq for his valuable services spanning more than half a century and had a comprehensive discussion on harmonizing the new generation with the needs of the modern world. Muhammad Ishaq shed light on the importance of his well-known work Taleem: Ek Tahreek-Ek Challenge (Education: A movement - a challenge), which has received acclaim from academics. Muhammad Ishaq (MA., MEd) is a product of Osmania University, Hyderabad and he has been head master, lecturer and principal of Government Intermediate Colleges for 33 years and retired in 1982 on pension for valuable service and then remained principal of Indian Embassy School Al-Hayil (Saudi Arabia) for five years. He is author of four books: revolving around education and is vice president of All India Educational Movement, New Delhi.

Ask the newly appointed Railway Protection Commissioner Muhammad Noorul Huda of Dhanbad Railway Zone what it means to struggle ever for the safety of railways property and how to take stringent steps against railway criminals. Noorul Huda did a great job at Dhanbad railway zone on 27 November last year and he has been successful in highlighting the cases of theft in a very short time. His steps against criminals have added to the prestige of the police. He has also put a ban on illegal transaction of hawkers and has arrested dozens of people so far. Performing his duty with honesty Huda said that railway properties are national properties and that no one has the right to damage them and that it is the responsibility of all citizens to protect them. In view of his honesty the public has demanded the ministry of railways that he should be given award.

Talat Mahmood Paul, son of Fazal Hussain Paul of Rajbagh, Srinagar has been conferred the degree of Ph D in floriculture by Sher-i-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology. The degree has been awarded to Mahmood on his research work on Studies on ornamental plants for landscape use, done under the guidance of Dr AQ John, Prof and Head, Division of Floriculture, Medical and Aromatic Plants.

Dr Gazi Pervaiz of Kashmir has been declared Mr J&K. Earlier too he has won the title of Mr Kashmir and he has also been declared the best body builder of the state. The championship organized by J&K State Sports Council was held at Jammu in which 60 body builders took part and displayed their muscular bodies.

Senior Muslim leader and Minister for Agriculture, West Bengal, Haji Kalimuddin Shams has been fast recovering. He was undergoing treatment in Delhiís Apollo Hospital. He had been suffering from lung disease and was operated upon. After being discharged from ICU, he told newspersons that the doctors have been very kind and to with him. The news of his recovery has brought happiness to people.

Senior Socialist leader Master Nooruddin is suffering from deadly cancer and is undergoing treatment in Safdarjang Hospital. The 85-year-old Master Nooruddin is the colleague of late Dr Ram Manohar Lohia and is an active social activist of Old Delhi. 

Shaheed Mistri of India, managing director and founder of Akanksha Foundation has been selected by the World Economic Forum (WEF) for global leaders of tomorrow (GLT) programme for the current year. The 100 selected for WEF have been invited to participate in a special GLT programme for first three years at the annual meeting of the forum and later for five years to an annual GLT summit.
