Riots and our leadership
It is surprising that all statements from the learned Muslims are coming at the fag end of the situation. We are only rising up from deep slumber after everything is over. First the sufferings of the Muslims are due to lack of leadership and then they suffer more due to the attitude and self interests of the so-called Muslim leaders.
The so-called Muslim leaders were deep in the slumber for the past two months when the Hindu fundamentalists were crying hoarse that come what may, they will build the temple. This started in the month of January and more and more statements were seen in the month of February. Unfortunately or regretfully our so-called Muslim leaders and the 40 odd Muslim members of the Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha just kept silent and did not utter a word. And when they uttered the words it was when hundreds of Muslims were torched to death, properties worth millions were set ablaze.
We do not speak when an former Congress Muslim MP the late Ehsan Jafferi and his family were done to death by a mob of 5000. He phoned the Congress leader Smt. Sonia Gandhi and the Prime Minister Vajpayee, and none came to his rescue for more than 6 hours. We keep our mouths shut and become dumb, when Communists like Shabana Azmi and her minions go on offensive against the Muslims. What has been the contribution of our politicians and so-called leaders towards the community ? None.
Not a single Muslim country has condemned the killings of hundreds of Muslims or protested to the Indian government >? Why ? This is the most frustrating thing for the poor Muslims of India. It is not any Muslim politicians or self-claimed leadersa kiths and kins that are killed but the innocent Muslims. Let the issue of the mosue be left to be decided by Muslim intellectuals rather than by politicians, religious leaders, or the so-called Muslim leaders.
Please dont use the Muslims for your self interests, prove it by your contributions. Ask the Muslim politicians for their contribution to the Muslim community. The Muslims of India needs action not statements.
