Terrorist Sharon to ‘crush’ Intifadah-II
in 100 days!
Israel’s new prime minister, the
well-known terrorist Ariel (Arik) Sharon has discovered a final solution
for his vctims: he will crush their Intifadah Mark 2 in 100 days. The same
general had marched into Lebanon in 1982 with a grand vision of subjecting
the whole area stretching from Congo to Karachi to the Israeli influence
and committed crimes of Sabra and Shatila to pave the way for that
pipe-dream. Within less than a year of the ignominious retreat of his army
from Lebanon, the general is dreaming again to put down a people who
refuse to fade away.
The new tactic is to inflict unbearable punishment on the Palestinian
Authority and the civilian population so that these terrorist tactics
could achieve for the settler-colonialists what Oslo could not deliver.
They could go to the depth of attacking the convoy of the Palestinian
delegation which had gone to negotiate security arrangements under US
pressure on 7 April. The message is clear: nothing is sacred and Israel
could leap to any depth to continue and perpetuate its illegal existence.
A three-phase plan has been formulated by Israel's generals. First comes
shelling by tanks or helicopter missiles on Palestinian Authority security
bases. Unless Arafat accedes to Sharon's demand for an end to violence,
the bombing will continue. At any time, Sharon can ratchet to a
"stage" in which the army will begin assassinating Palestinian
leaders. The hits would be against senior but not prominent Palestinians.
If this fails to bring the Palestinians to their knees, the next phase
will be let loose: the Israeli army will seal off villages and conduct
house-to-house searches for weapons. It will also clamp down on the
movement of all goods except food, fuel and medicines, which will crush a
Palestinian economy that has already lost $1.5 billion because of the
intifadeh, according to the UN.
If even the second phase fails the third will come into action: the
Palestinian Authority will be declared as an "enemy." In this
last phase Israel would view any building or official linked to the PA as
a ‘target.’ It would not mean all-out war against the Palestinian
people, and Israel would not send its tanks to retake towns like Ramallah
and Gaza because it cannot stand an all-out war which will send coffins to
the kibbutzim. q |
