Rajasthan Minorities Financial Corp to be
operational soon
Rajasthan’s Minorities Development
& Financial Corporation will start functioning from 1 May 2001. This
was decided after a meeting that took place between the chief minister of
Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot and chairman of National Minorities Development
and Financial Corporation, Qari Mohammad Mian Mazhari. Qari Mazhari said
that the government of Rajasthan has issued orders for guaranteeing a
provisional amount of Rs 5 crores to the National Minorities Development
& Financial Corporation for quick implementation of the schemes of
Minorities Development & Financial Corporation for the coming
financial year. The Board of Directors of the corporation of the state has
already been constituted and the post of managing director together with
that of chairman of state’s Minorities Development Financial Corporation
has, for the time being, given to the state’s Additional Secretary
(Home). Till the time a public representative is selected for chairman’s
post, this responsibility will be carried out by the Additional Secretary
(Home).
This important meeting that took place at Gehlot’s residence was
attended by state’s Social Welfare Secretary, private secretary of
Rajasthan’s chief minister. Managing Director of Rajasthan’s
Minorities Financial Corporation, Mr Khanna and Managing Director of
Rajasthan Scheduled Caste Scheduled Tribe Finance Corporation, Mr Balai.
Expressing his displeasure over the delay in this respect, the chief
minister directed the concerned officers present in the meeting to submit
a complete programme to him, in writing, within ten days stating the
reasons for the corporation not starting its work and the people
responsible for this.
Qari Mazhari also expressed his views in this meeting with the chief
minister that in the absence of the Department of Minorities Welfare in
the state, the minorities of the state are not getting the benefits of all
those schemes which have been introduced by the centre for the development
and welfare of minorities. q |
