The Amazing Quran, By Gary Miller
Publishers: Islam Darshan Kendra, Kalyan 421301 (India) Order

The books serves as an excellent insight into the holy Qur'an, enticing readers to go deeper into understanding the holy book!

Hooked to the Net or glued to the television-its the trend these days, reading habits have gone for a toss. Writers are coming up with frightening ideas about compiling their books on line-imagine reading a bestseller on line! But thankfully there are still those die-hard readers who are faithful to their reading habits and here's a book that is refreshingly different and bibliophiles are surely going to be bowled over by its down-to-earth approach. The Amazing Qur'an by Gary Miller published by Islam Darshan Kendra, packaged with a classy cover design gives an impression that it is one of those "foreign editions." "We wish to draw the attention of our readers towards one such colossal of a book known as the "Qur'an," ignored knowingly or unknowingly by a large number of readers. Knowingly, thinking and assuming that what can be there for them in a religious scripture meant for Muslims? We hope that The Amazing Qur'an by Gary Miller would dispel all such pre-conceived notions of our learned readers, generate sufficient interest and entice them to read and understand The Holy Qur'an. Only then would they have probably realized what they missed all these days!" says the foreword. Based on a number of talks given by Gary Miller over several years, the book takes the readers through a systematic analysis of the Qur'an as a resourceful book, as a divine revelation and a book of facts. The most striking aspect of this book is the personalized touch where Miller relates his interactions with different people and his journey towards convincing them that the holy Qur'an is the Word of God. Under the chapter the Book of Facts, it says that the Qur'an approaches everyone who reads it in a very much the same way a psychologist treats his mythomania patient Basically one is healed of his delusions by reading the Qur'an. In essence, it is a therapy. It literally cures deluded people by confronting them with facts. For those from different communities, not familiar with the Qur'an, this book serves as an excellent insight into the holy book. After all, there comes a time when the truth ought to be faced head-on. It is worthwhile to log-out of the Net, stack away the television remote, put those glossy journals back on the shelves and pick up The Amazing Qur'an for it is truly a book which has the potential to change people's lives for the best and it will lead them to go deeper into understanding the Qur'an which has something or the other for every human being of this world.
