Riots revisit Ahmedabad
| Ahmedabad: After a lull of past few days, violence erupted in the city on Sunday, 9 June, with mobs hurling crude bombs and pelting stones, injuring a few persons including a woman and a child in Juhapur and Guptanagar localities and prompting police to open fire and burst teargas shells. The violence broke out after arrest of some persons in connection with the communal violence earlier with a mob hurling three to four crude bombs at the Special Reserve Police personnel in Juhapur, police said. Police opened fire and lobbed teargas shells to disperse the mob which also indulged in stone throwing. A women and a child, travelling in an auto rickshaw were injured in stone throwing incidents in Guptanagar, police said. BSF and Special Reserve Police personnel were deployed in the trouble-torn areas
