Shiv Sena activist arrested for many murders

Meerut: With the arrest of Deepak Sharma, a Shiv Sena activist, police claimed to have solved ten cases of murder in different cities such as Delhi, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahar, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar and Haridwar. On receipt of information by informers, when the police tried to arrest him near Meerut, he fired at the police. But police succeeded in arresting him.

In a statement before the police officers, he said that he committed the first murder in 1991 in order to avenge the murder of his brother.

About his political life he said that once he happened to address a meeting of Shiv Sena in Lucknow in which Maharashtra’s former chief minister and present speaker of Lok Sabha, Manohar Joshi, was also present. Manohar Joshi very much appreciated his speech and asked him to join Shiv Sena, he claimed. He did so and since then he is a Shiv Sena activist.
