Sirswangod criminals nabbed
By Obaid Nasir, Lucknow
Union
Home Minister Lal Krishn Advani misled Parliament. Chief Minister Rajnath
Singh, UP state home department, Moradabad district administration, all
crossed the limits of lies and misguided the public. But the truth
prevailed. The six innocent persons of Sirsavangod village in Moradabad
district were not killed by the so-called 'Kachcha baniyan' gang (a
criminal tribe) but by the activists of a terrorist organisation, Hindu
Krantikari Dharam Rakshak Sena. Its self-proclaimed commander, Shiv Kumar
Sharma, with three accomplices, Kuldeep Sharma, Pradeep Pal and Akhilesh
Dabral, brother of a senior local BJP leader, were arrested by
Muzaffarnagar police on 21 September with two pistols, one revolver, three
hand grenades and many live cartridges alongwith fake police uniform and
belt.
Muzaffarnagar police was in search of these criminals who were hell-bent
upon instigating communal riot in this volatile city by throwing
provocative pamphlets in mosques and other Muslim religious places like
dargahs etc. According to SSP Muzaffarnagar, Vijai Kumar Kashyap, Akhilesh
Dabral is the owner of a computer centre and the provocative pamphlets
were prepared at this centre and were thrown by Kuldeep Sharma in several
mosques and other religious places. It may be noted that for the last few
months such pamphlets and other provocative materials were found in
mosques causing communal tension and misunderstanding between Hindus and
Muslims, in which one mutawalli of a mosque was killed. Sharma has
accepted his involvement in this murder too.
During interrogation Sharma admitted his involvement in the murder of six
innocent persons and rape of a minor in Sirsavangod village of Moradabad
district. MG at that time [MG38, 16-31 August 2001] had challenged the
home minister and the state administration’s theory and asked them to
give any other example where this gang had used police uniform and raped
its victims and went without looting even a single paisa. The said
criminal tribe resorts to killing only if challenged but never commits
rape or uses police uniform.
This is a fit case of privilege motion against the home minister. Perhaps
out of this fear the district administration of Muzaffarnagar has
pooh-poohed the statement of Sharma and termed it as an ‘attempt of
cheap publicity.’ At the instruction of state government the news was
hushed up by the local and state press. Even national dailies ignored or
buried this important news in inside pages and edited Sharma’s statement
in which he has accepted his involvement in Moradabad tragedy. q |
