Government responsible for growth of madrasas
New
Delhi: According to the well-known historian and former Jamia Millia VC,
Prof. Mushirul Hasan, it is totally wrong to say that madrasas in India
are producing terrorists. He, however, admitted that the number of these
madrasas is increasing but, according to him, government itself is
responsible for this because its is unable to cope with the education for
all people.
Speaking
in an international seminar on the topic of terrorism in Delhi, he said
that parents who send their sons to madrasas have no other alternative.
Citing the example of Darul Uloom, Deoband, he said that this institution
has always provided nationalist ideologies. About Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow,
he said that whenever there was any case of Islamic terrorism parents and
students of this madrasa were disturbed and worried and members of Sangh
Parivar used to make a beeline for this institution.
He said that RSS is indulging in propaganda that madrasas in India are
functioning on the lines of those in Pakistan. He said that if it is
proved that these madrasas are producing terrorists, these should be
closed down. q |
