Conditions in the country worse than emergency
Rewati (Ballia): Magsaysay Award winner, Sandeep Pande, speaking in a welcome address in his honour in his home town at Rewat (Ballia district) said that today our country has reached a stage where conditions are even worse than emergency.
He said that Mahatma Gandhi, Vinoba Bhave and Jai Prakash Narayan brought great and peaceful revolutions without taking recourse to the politics of elections.
Strongly taking Sangh Parivar to task, he said that it has virtually killed the soul of India’s composite culture and civilisation. Though Hindu civilisation is based on religious tolerance, Sangh and its affiliate organisations have demolished the main foundation of Hindu civilisation in Gujarat, he said. He accused the government of selling out public enterprises and industries to private capitalists at very cheap prices, instead of removing unemployment and poverty.
He said that though he does not belong to any political party, he will participate in election campaigns in Gujarat in order to defeat BJP.
He also criticised Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and President Parvez Musharraf of Pakistan. q |
