Discrimination in recruitment for PAC in Uttaranchal
Mangalore: Muslims in Uttaranchal are highly dissatisfied and angry with the state’s Congress government at the discriminatory and step motherly treatment meted out to them in the recruitment for PAC. Recently, in response to advertisement for direct appointment for the posts of Darogha, Platoon Commander, police, PAC etc, 253 persons were selected out of which 25 were women and only 3 were Muslims in the whole state. This clearly shows that government is treating Muslims in a step motherly manner, though Muslims are the biggest minority in the state and they are in majority in Haridwar, Dehradoon, Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts. The state politics in fact is dependent mainly on these Muslim majority districts.
Prominent social worker, Nafis Ansari said that the chief minister, ministers and other Congress leaders of the state shed crocodile tears on the backwardness and poverty of Muslims but do nothing to improve their lot and ignore them at every step. According to Parvez Alam Ansari, general secretary of Ameer Hamza Youth Ekta Committee, selection of 3 Muslims youth only out of 253 is a big fraud and this government also like that of UP, is discriminating against Muslims and giving preference to people of one community only. q |
