Cases of conversion going on since the times of Ashoka
Aligarh: A conference on ‘Human Right of Minorities in India was recently organised in Aligarh under the auspices of AMU’s Human Rights program and
UP Minorities Commission. Addressing the conference, Dr Abdur Rahim P. Bijapur said that in order to prevent of feeling of live towards each other and democratic structure in the country, it is necessary to import education about all religion to student from the school level itself as this would remove misunderstandings.
Targeting BJP and Congress of his criticism for their anti-Muslim policies, he said that these parties always talked of religion and famed communalism for the sake of riots.
As regards religious conversion he said that such cases have been going on since the time of Ashoka. Constitution of India permit any one to change his or her religion voluntarily. q |
