Compensation to acid attack victims
New Delhi: The sisters Yasmeen, 16 and Asma 14, the victims of acid attack were shifted to the burns ward at Delhi’s Safdarjung Hospital on 27 October.
In April, when they were sleeping in their house in Shambli, Muzaffarnagar, six boys threw acid on them. Five other family members were also injured in the attack. The attack left Asma and Yasmeen disfigured for life.
Moved by the plight of the two girls PM Manmohan Singh ordered release of Rs 1 lakh each from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for their treatment.
