“Meeting on Ayodhya soon”
Saharanpur: Hindu religious leader Shankaracharya of Dwarkapeeth, Swaroopanand Saraswati Maharaj said here at a press conference on 23 May that a meeting of Hindu and Muslim religious leaders would be held in Ayodhya on the occasion of Navratri to settle the Ram Mandir dispute through mutual talks. He said that the dispute should not be left to be decided by the court because whatever be the decision of the court, one party would definitely feel dissatisfied and unhappy, leading to permanent tension between Hindus and Muslims. He said that BJP had taken advantage of Hindu sentiments in the name of Ram Mandir. In reply to a question about BJP’s defeat in the elections, he said that BJP had come to power on the promise of building of Ram Temple, introduction of uniform civil code and abolition of Article 370 which is related to the special status of Kashmir, but it could not fulfil its promises and this led to its defeat.
