Mazharul Haq Arabic-Persian University starts functioning
New Delhi: An Arabic-Persian University has been set up in Patna and it has already started functioning. Prof Sharf Alam, vice-president of Persian Scholars Association, has been appointed vice chancellor of the university.
A meeting of the executive committee of Persian Scholars Association was held here on 21 May in which the activities and performance of the association during the past one year were reviewed. The meeting expressed happiness over regular functioning of the university and praised Bihar government for its efforts and guidance in establishing the university. The meeting said that with the establishment of the university, the secular and democratic system of the country would be strengthened and educational and cultural relations with Persian-speaking countries would be promoted.
