Togadia may not be chargesheeted

Ajmer: In the absence of Rajasthan government’s approval, no chargesheet against VHP’s international general secretary, Praveen Togadia could be filed in a local court. Government prosecutor in an application to additional chief magistrate, IP Sharma, has asked for more time for filing the chargesheet because of non-receipt of government approval. The court accepted his plea and has fixed the next hearing of the case on 15 July. The police had arrested Togadia in April last year for making inflammatory speeches during ‘Trishul Deeksha’ [Trishul distribution] programme organised by the VHP. The court had released him on conditional bail. (Rashtriya Sahara [Urdu daily] May 8, 2004)
