Lalu preparing ground to jail Modi
New Delhi: Railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav is preparing to send Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi behind bars. He is planning to file an appeal before the Supreme Court that the hearing of Godhra carnage case be shifted to a court outside Gujarat. Lalu wants to bring to the notice of the court three aspects of the case. The information given by Modi government regarding the names of 59 persons killed in coach S-6 of Sabarmati Express was not taken from the reservation chart. Modi government had named 59 persons as killed, but only 14 families so far came forward to claim the compensation of Rs 0.4 million to each dead person in the case. According to the forensic report and a secret report of the railways, fire was ignited inside the coach. This fact is also verified by the home ministry’s intelligence report. Chief of Trinamool Congress, one of the coalition partners of erstwhile NDA government, Mamta Banerji had also raised the issue of ignoring the reservation chart.
According to Lalu, those 59 persons were not killed due to fire in the train. They had reached the station after hearing the news of fire in the train and they were killed in the stampede that ensued on the station according to the intelligence report. National Human Rights Commission had observed in its report that those killed at Godhra were not Hindus but Muslims. Lalu Yadav has consulted the famous lawyer and Congress leader Kapil Sibal about these three aspects of the case and they could be submitted before the court as concrete proofs for implicating and putting Modi behind bars for hatching a conspiracy.
