Second husband

I saw in papers that sepoy Arif of Indian Army on return to India from Pakistan came to know that his wife is married to another man. What a shock to him!
In cases when a husband is missing, the Qazi must give notice of the missing husband and has to wait four years before marrying the missing man's wife to another man. Was this procedure followed by the Qazi who married Arif's wife to another man? In case of Arif his being a prisoner was known and he was not a missing husband.

In any case now that Arif has returned, the marriage of his wife to another man is cancelled under the Islamic Law and she must return to her husband Arif, if he is willing to take her back or he should divorce her. His wife’s continuing to live with her second husband is adultery because her second marriage is illegal from the beginning. It is such careless and thoughtless actions of some Qazis that bring a bad name to Islam.
