The case for trial of Bush and Blair
Both US president George W. Bush and UK Prime Minister Tony Blair should be declared as world criminals and brought to justice. There are irrefutable charges against them for putting them on trial.
Bush and Blair misled not only their respective nation but also the world at large and invaded Iraq on false charges and occupied it. They have thrown a peaceful nation into anarchy.
UN Arms Chief Inspector Hans Blix reported that Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction. Bush and Blair attacked the country without allowing the United Nations Weapon Inspectors to complete their inspections. From this it appears that they knew that Iraq did not have any objectional weapons under the UN resolutions and were predetermined to invade Iraq to loot its natural resources and to break the moral strength of its brave people.
The official probe into the World Trade Centre attack has found no evidence of link between Iraq and Al Qaida network.
Bush and Blair are responsible for torturing, abusing and killing innocent Iraqi people inhumanly and destroying their economy, ecology and civilization.
They have violated all international laws and conventions of war and peace and been the cause of suffering of millions of innocent people in Iraq and Afghanistan.
By invading Iraq without the clear mandate of the UN, Bush and Blair have shaken the faith and respect the mankind has in the world body and its efficacy.
Bringing of Bush and Blair to justice is a must to restore the credibility of the world body in the eyes of the peace-loving overhelping majority of Mankind.
While arranging for trial of the war criminals, the international community should assess the extent of loss of lives and properties suffered by the innocent people of Iraq and Afghanistan and ask the US and the UK to compensate the damage within a reasonable framework of time.
Further, sovereignty of Iraq should be transferred to the real representatives of the Iraqi people from the hands of the collaborators of the war criminals. This is a must to bring back public peace and order into the country.
If war criminals are punished and the grievances of the suffering people of the world are redressed in a fair and just manner, then the world peace and harmony will not be so difficult to achieve.
