Wajahat is new textiles secretary
New Delhi: The Centre has filled up the vacancies in the bureaucratic setup and made some fresh appointments, which included appointing Mr Wajahat Habibullah as the new Union textiles secretary. Mr Habibullah is a 1968
IAS officer from the Jammu and Kashmir cadre. Before his appointment, he was senior fellow at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington. In a long and distinguished career in the Indian government, he has served at the Embassy of India in Washington, in the Prime Minister’s Office under Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, and in numerous capacities in the state of Jammu and Kashmir where his car was attacked, allegedly by security forces.
