Sir Syed Education Foundation
Jaipur: Sir Syed Education Foundation, an educational foundation named after the founder of Aligarh Muslim University, Sir Syyed Ahmad Khan has been established in Jaipur. The foundation aims to help poor and talented students of the Muslim community in Rajasthan through scholarships and financial assistance by mobilising resources through participatory efforts. An initial corpus funds of Rs. 3.95 lakhs by the individual contribution of18 persons has been created.
Secretary of the foundation, Azam Beg said that efforts would be made to promote higher and technical education among the Muslim youth after the foundation receives more funds.
Abdul Rehman Chaudhary, former minister and Congress leader, heads the foundation, while the patrons of the foundation are the Congress MLA, Aimaduddin Ahmed Khan, former civil servant, J.M. Khan, and former judge of the Rajasthan high court, Justice Mohammed
Yamin.
The establishment of the foundation was formally announced in a function of the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association here on October 17 marking the Sir Syed Day.
