Stop this mad war
I am writing to you calling for some efforts to stop this war. This war has caused the loss of more than 100,000 Iraqis (according to a study published by the Lancet medical journal) and more than 1258 Americans. Large violations of human rights have been committed against civilians in various towns of Iraq. Those who were the cause for these losses and violations must be sent to fair trials, so that the two nations may start reconciliation and live together peacefully.
Day after day tragic events occur in Iraq, in which peaceful civilians are killed by the US troops. I am writing to you about the deliberate shooting of a minibus that was carrying 18 civilians in the city center of Ramadi. The event occurred on 21 Nov. Such buses have been used for civil transportation for more than two decades. The US troops which have been in Iraq for more than 19 months now, know this fact very well. The minibus was fully occupied by civilians and thus it cannot be mistakenly regarded as one prepared for suicidal attack. There were no combat operations in the street and that is why the bus was moving. The US troops opened fire heavily on the bus while it was passing by peacefully. Hundreds of bullets hit the bus which proves that bullets came from many US soldiers. It was a deliberate attack and not a mistake of a single soldier. The result was the instant killing of six men and a woman and the injury of 11 others. After committing this brutal act, the US troops left the injured civilians and did not bother even to carry them to a nearby hospital. This event provides another evidence that those troops take no care of civilians nor of Geneva treaties regarding the protection of civilians. You are kindly requested to do any thing that helps to stop such violation of human rights.
