The term ‘terrorism’ is yet to be defined under international law. Surprisingly, at the same time condemnation as well as justification of the act of the terrorist is rampant in society. The author has attempted to define terrorism on the basis of mode adopted by so-called terrorists and reason behind the increasing terrorism. He says that one is justified to conclude that unless one addresses the roots of injustice and tyranny, terrorism will continue to breed. Dr Fazlur-Rahman Faridi, a renowned economist, in his book "Operation Enduring Freedom or Global Supremacy", has been ignited by profound desperation and helplessness of the oppressed against the oppressor or deep grief of victims. The book gives brief account of terrorism in preceding century worldwide, and mentions acts of sabotage are in progress in different states of India.
Unfortunately, Islam is being identified with terrorism at present. In fact, the civilization for whom materialism comes first has encouraged gun culture. However, on the contrary, Islam not only dislikes and discourages gun culture, bloodshed and harming innocent people, but is also a strong adversary of cultural, educational and economic fascism and terrorism. Islam is the only religion which covers all affairs of humankind and preaches world peace and universal brotherhood and is exponent of liberty, equality and social justice. The message of Islam became the harbinger of renaissance and reformation movements in Europe for which the West is duly indebted. Today, West is not honest to define Islam in its true form. Jihad is confused with terrorism. Dr Bari has distinguished both terms and removed confusion. Islam is a protagonist of virtuous and methodical revolution and not of extremism, he has written in the concluding chapter.
