MUFTI AHMAD BIMAT, a noted religious scholar of Gujrat passed away on 12 February at the age of 75. Founder of Madani Darut Tarbiyat, Mufti Bimat was shaikhul hadith at Jamia Falah-e-Darain. He patronised more than hundred makatib (morning schools) and was also closely associated with Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind. Maulana Asrarul Haque Qasmi, president of All India Talimi wa Milli Foundation, Maulana Ghulam Ahmad Dastanwi and others condoled his demise. He was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Ravindra Karmali village in Bharuch.
A condolence meeting was held at Iqra Islamic School following the demise of MAULANA ABDUL MALIK MAZAHIRI, former treasurer of Madrasa Mazahir Uloom Waqf, Saharanpur. Principal Asrar Ahmad and others hailed the Maulana’s educational and welfare services.
MUHAMMAD ABID “Barafwale”, a famous social activist of Delhi died of heart attack on 3 March. He was 55. Member of Fish Poultry and Exit Market Committee, Government of Delhi and of Delhi State Haj Committee, Abid was associated with several voluntary organisations of Delhi. Ghazipur fish market remained closed for a day as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
