Ujjain: Shankaracharya of Puri, Swami Adhokshaj-anand revealed that Iran's spiritual leader Ayatullah Khamnie has invited him to visit Iran. It may be mentioned in this connection that he has already visited Iran a number of times earlier in the past. He has also visited Iraq, Libya, Kuwait, Dubai, Jordan and other Arab countries for talks in connection with peace. He said that before the American attack on Iraq he had gone there and met Saddam Husain. On being asked as to what he discussed with Saddam Husain, he said that previously wars were fought on political grounds, the purpose being to occupy other countries and to control its wealth, assets etc, but now wars are being fought on religious grounds.

As regards Israel-Palestine war be said that wars to show one's superiority have now been tainted with religious colour. He said that the objective of his foreign visits is to explain and spread the message of Sanatan Dharma to rulers. Regarding processions of sadhus with great pomp and show, be criticesed such exhibitionism and said that sadhus and sants should keep away from such outward show because these things do not add to one's knowledge. They should play their role in creating and spreading peace and goodwill through prayers and spiritualism. «
