Banatwala on League policies
Saharanpur: All India Muslim League president, GM Banatwala believes that secularism means no discrimination against anybody in the name of religion. He said that when Shariah was being violated in Shah Bano case, it was the Muslim League which first raised its voice against the violation.
He accused Samajwadi and Bahujan Samaj parties for exploiting and cheating minorities. He said that even if Muslim League does not succeed in elections it will continue to raise its voice against injustice and violation of rights. Expressing anger over Delhi Jama Masjid Imam Bokhari's appeal to Muslims to cast their votes in favour of BJP, he said that it is unfortunate that a person holding such a respectable position speaks in such a manner simply for personal gains. He accused other parties also and said that till date no party or government has solved the problems of minorities, though there is no dearth of parties in the country which make tall promises and propagate secularism.
He said that he would support any move which helps in forming a non-NDA government at the centre. Describing RSS and BJP as a danger to the secular system he warned that people should be careful against those parties. Targeting BSP he said that Mayawati was an opportunist that is why she asked for votes in favour of Narendra Modi and asked her party MPs to vote and support Modi. «
