Prof AH Moosavi, founder of Wild Life Sciences Department of AMU and a distinguished wild life scientist, died in Aligarh on 11 March after a long illness. Born in Lucknow in 1934 he was the first head of this department which he founded in 1994. He was also a member of Salim Ali Centre of Arnithology and Natural History, Wild Life Institution, Dehradun, Wild Life Association of UK and World Wild Life Fund.
Mohammad Rafiq, former principal of Fatehpuri Sr Sec School died in Delhi on 5 March. He served as a teacher in this school for 38 long years and retired as the principal of this School in July 1988 after diligently and sincerely performing his responsibilities.

Abdus Salam, a famous calligraphist of Hyderabad died in Hyderabad on 6 March at the age of 72. A condolence meeting was held in Calligraphy Institute, Madanpur Khadar where rich tributes were paid to him by Calligraphist Journalists Union and other noted calligaraphists. Recently he had demonstrated his 100 odd masterpieces in Nastalique style at an exhibition in Salarjung Museum, Hyderabad.
ZUBAIDA BI, mother of the Karnataka Minister of State for Labour and Haj, Tanvir Sait, passed away at a private hospital in Bangalore on March 14. Zubaida Bi, 78, was the wife of former Minister, the late Azeez Sait. 

Kumu Hafizka, Trustee and Hon. Secretary of Hindustani Prachar Sabha, passed away on March 13. She was the wife of late AK Hafizka, former Indian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia. She was a good administrator and perfect disciplinarian. She carried out her responsibilities till her last breath. Hafizka was the chairperson of Girls’ School Board of Anjuman-i-Islam and contributed to the development of various schools and colleges. q.«
