|Rejoinder to Syed Shahabuddin
Milli Gazette Online
Thanks for publishing my earlier rejoinders to Syed Shahabuddin and Prof. Iqbal A. Ansari. I understand the pressure on you for not publishing my last rejoinder to Janab Syed Shahabuddin. I also understand that the person who matters in the affairs of the Milli Gazette has not given you a free hand as editor of this leading fortnightly, otherwise my rejoinder to Syed Shahabuddin could not have been thrown aside.
By not publishing my second rejoinder to Syed Shahabuddin against his baseless charges against me, in particular, and Backward Muslims in general, two things get proved. Muslim community in India is divided between Ashraf and Ajlaf from the very beginning. The Milli Gazette is the organ of Ashraf Muslims only as it did not publish a rejoinder of a Backward Muslim. I thought that the Milli Gazette was an organ of Millat-e-Islamia, but by not publishing my second rejoinder it has proved that it has become the organ of Millat-e-Ashrafia only. The editor of Milli Gazette must be aware of the journalistic ethics and by not publishing my second rejoinder, he has violated the journalistic ethics.
Now my second rejoinder to Syed Shahabuddin is available in booklet form and anybody interested, can have it from Centre of Backward Muslims of India, free of charge.

Editor: MG as well as its editor are fiercely free and there is no power except Allah and the editor’s own conscience to control him. We had published two, each full page, rejoinders by Ashfaq Husain Ansari, to Syed Shahabuddin and Prof Iqbal Ansari. We did not find anything new in the third one which is now available as a “booklet” from the author. In any case, rejoinders should be concise and to-the-point in order for them to be published.
