|Attacks on minorities pre-planned
Milli Gazette Online
Kollam: The working chairman of the People's Democratic Party, C.K. Abdul Aziz said that the recent attacks on minority communities in the southern parts of Kerala were pre-planned. He was speaking at a press conference on March 2. "There were grounds to conclude that these attacks were unleashed with a view to creating another Marad and making political and communal capital out of it. We urge the government not to view these attacks as isolated incidents. Strong action should be taken against the culprits. If the government fails to take action, it would only be natural for the people to resort to agitations. The agenda does not provide any opportunity to economically weaker sections of society." He called for a development agenda that suited the interests of the poor. On the Hindu unity move mooted by the SNDP and the NSS, he said there was no reason for the PDP to feel anxious about it.
