|Hidden agenda behind Hindu unity
Milli Gazette Online
Kollam: Kerala Dalit Federation president P. Ramabhadran has said that the call for unity between the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam and the Nair Service Society has a hidden agenda that will harm communal harmony. Talking to media on March 5 here, he said the federation did not see any agenda in the unity call that would benefit the whole society. The dangerous aspect behind the call was the open challenge against the minority communities. It was on the basis of this challenge that the unity call was being promoted. Such a situation could lead to eruption of communal clashes. On the part of Dalits in general and the federation in particular, there was no commitment towards supporting the cause of Hindu unity. The so-called soft corner towards Dalits shown occasionally by political parties was only a cosmetic exercise. The undercurrent was by and large antagonistic towards all Dalit interest, he said.
