Milli Gazette Online
Jaipur: Members of the two communities clashed in Gurwana village of Kota district, Rajasthan after a Banjrang Dal activist of the village alleged that a Muslim of the village might have captured his cows. Four persons sustained injuries in the clash. Additional police force has been deployed keeping in view the tense situation prevailing there.
Nearly 20 to 25 Bajrang Dal activists came to Gurwana driving scooters and motorcycles and raising slogans. After seeing their aggressive posture some people of the other community gathered and the two groups started fighting.
Bajrang Dal activists who had not expected such a reaction had to take to their heels and the agitated crowd caught one of them Chhitar Mal. The Bajrangis too seized a contractor, Altaf Hussain and his son Ghaffar at Kanwas crossing and thrashed them. Both the son and father sustained severe injuries.
The police acted swiftly and brought the situation under control. The Kota Superintendent of Police, Govind Gupta said that cases against two dozen persons have been registered including Bahadur Ali, Hashmat Ali, Nasrullah, Shakeel, Murad, Ashfaque, Rustam, Mustaqeem and Shafique. The district magistrate after getting delivery of the cows has sent them to a cow shed.
Muslims of the area alleged that the police in its one sided action has arrested only Muslims on the behest of the BJP government and that the incident was a result of provocation of the Bajrang Dal activists.
